India, I'm Loving It

I never know that I will love India until I visited a nearby state from Karnataka, called Goa. Now in the rush, so I will just blog up some info about Goa what I heard from friends cuz I don't time to wiki or google it. You guys can just find out by yourselves. Goa is a duty free state and of coz a tourist spot. And most of the people here are catholic so can see churches around. Goa is just all about 3Bs-- Beaches, Bitches, Beers. Haha, Joe is the one think of this. There are beaches in Goa but for this trip I just managed to visit one of that named Baga. Baga Beach is really long stretched with countless of big tents set up along the beach which sells beers, liquor and food. It is a tourist spot of coz a lot of topless girls and ladies jogging around or sun bathing. The best thing is at here the beer is freaking cheap, you can get a one pint of beer with jus 25 rupees (less than RM2.50). Of course I love beer. Having a cold chilled beer at the beach and admiring the waves ....wah, it's really like living in a paradise. The weather in Goa is damn freaking hot. Thanks to amy's sunblock cuz I didn't bring mine along. What a pity, i cant get the chance to post up the photos for you guys. I really love Goa so much. I hope I can get the chance again to visit another beach there after the monsoon season is over. Chilling out at beach, walking around to explore and clubbing during night were things I've done in Goa. I really don't mind spend two weeks there although I stayed in budget hotel.
After so much of nice things about Goa, let me talk about the suckiest train journey to Goa. What's the first impression on your mind when I talk about TRAINS in india? For those who always travel with KTM which always get delayed, you won't complain about KTM anymore after you read my post. Trip to Goa was a sudden due to late announcement of 4-day holidays. So of course we didn't get the chance to buy those reserved class tickets. In the end, we only managed to get General Compartment (equivalent to Economic Class for KTM). At least the ticketsthat KTM sell is numbered tickets. In india, they will just sell countless of tickets to whoever want to buy it. Can you imagine all of them boarding up the train but there's only limited cabins of GC? There will be people sleeping on the floor, on the tray for luggage and anywhere they can find a space to sit or sleep. The worst thing is the train is smelly. My friends and I stood for 3 hours out of 5 hours of journey. When we got the seats, we just cramped together or took turns to sleep. It was a "great" experience. Same thing happened again on the trip we got back from Goa. Will post up photos for you guys after I got my internet connection.

20

I turned 20 last sunday. Really had some surprise from Joe and Amy who I just got to know them for less than one month. We went to Cosmo Cafe for my birthday dinner on Saturday night, the meals made us quite disappointed. Well, surprise that I've mentioned is both of them baked a cake for me and give me a birthday card. Anyway, I know something is going on friday when Joe told me he was no going to play basketball. Anyway, I just don't care la. I know you guys sure have some question for me. "How's the cake looked like?" "Does it taste nice?"....haha...Again, I wil post up the photos soon then you all only post up the comments la...Hehe..After dinner, we went to Blue Waters with a bunch of classmates. On sunday morning, 3 of us and Kah Sien went to Mangalore for a visit. Back to campus around 7pm. Though two of my latest posts are quite short cuz I really not comfortable with the computers in library. By the way, I really had a great birthday celebration.
p/s: some details are not convenient to be revealed in my blog.

New Home on Birthday

Due to some complicated reasons, I'm forced to move to another room which is much more expensive compared to previous room. For your info, my new home is just less than 15 steps to lecture halls and just next to library. It has 3 lifts for 16 rooms to share on each floor. Apparently, I really love my current room. Bad news is this block is totally a new block so internet connection is yet to be installed in one month time. I will post up photos of my new home once I get o online with my own laptop.

Umbrella

As most of my friends know I really hate to use umbrella no matter what, I rather get wet or walk under the sun without carry an umbrella. After came to manipal, umbrella is the thing I will always bring to class likewise to everyone in the college. It has 3 functions as what our seniors have told us
  • Cover yourself for real real hot sun
  • Of course cover yourself from rain but this function doesn't work during monsoon season cuz the rain will come from different direction and eventually everyone will get soaking wet after reached the lecture hall. So, it's seem useless to carry umbrella at that time. (seldom rain during summer, like now)
  • Cover yourself from birds' shit cuz a lot of crows flying around

I bought the umbrella for almost one month. It is spoilt at the edge after I used it for two weeks. Don't care la.... the umbrella is not cheap at here. 170 indian rupees...if every month I need two umbrellas, it is really a waste of money.

The Road Taken

Wah, just finished my anatomy test today. Felt a bit relieved cuz last whole week I've been studying anatomy till I really fed up already. I'm happy with my result cuz I never give myself too high expectation but I did try my best. Rather be an average student at the same time having fun and enjoy uni life. Now my routine is every morning 8am go for lectures, all the lectures usually end at 5pm in evening. By the time lectures end, I feel really tired cuz all the new stuff I've learned on that day really saturate my brain. If still able to move, I will go to play basketball with friends. I've found some of my classmates who like to play basketball, all of them are JPA malays (very few chinese girls in my class and most of them do not play any sport). Feel great cuz it's really hard to find basketball mates especially girls. Guess what?? They are quite pro. I really can improve my skills by playing with them. After doing sport and dinner, I will just go to library till it is closed. Back to room, study or online till I feel sleepy then go to bed. The next day same routine will be repeated again. Though it is quite busy, tiring and stressful, I know this is my life for this coming 5 years, at least I'm doing what I like and I'm loving it. Guess I really chose the right road for the sake of my interest and myself. At here time passes damn fast cuz I really get myself occupied with studies on weekdays and activities on weekends. By the way, I really addicted to caffeine nowadays and at here every where sells coffee. Able to get a small cup of coffee with 5rupees. Caffeine is really in great demand at here. I'm feeling sleepy and tomorrow still have anatomy presentation. Good night guys and HAPPY APRIL FOOL.

Just finished drawing three stupid epithelium for my histology journal, it took me 75 minutes to complete all the drawings. These few days are really busy and stressed with studies so doesn't have anything special to blog about. Since nothing special to write, just roughly type out my upcoming events here.

3/4 Physiology Self-directed Learning Presentation
5/4 Physiology Self-directed Learning Evaluation (Test)
14/4 Physiology Problem Based Learning Pre-presentation
21/4 Anatomy Test

New Discovery

In last two days, me and my friends discovered another two new places for food. A chinese restaurant which sell real chinese cuisine named Thailin, like sweet&sour pork, sambal kangkung and etc.We were just so greedy and order a lot of dishes. Finally we are very sure what we ordered cuz everytime when visit the local restaurant, those name for the food we really don't know what is that but we will just order and try. Discover dish by dish everytime we visit the particular restaurant. The lady boss is a chinese and she speak hakka but she is an india borned chinese. Wah, feel so homie when having our dinner there. Another place is Baskins, other than subway and Domino's, I get the chance to eat cheap Baskins ice-cream as well. Today is good friday, it is a public holiday in India. I went to church for mass with friends. Wish everyone that reading my blog, Happy Easter Day. Ciao.

University Life

I've been experienced my uni life around 1 week already. At first still not really used to it cuz it had been a long time I didn't attend for lectures. It's hard to pay concentration for hours of lectures after rested for so long. But now everything is back to pace, I'm able to stay up late with my books instead of ps2, astro and football when I was slacking at home. Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, histology are the subjects that I need to face for 12 months time. Till now, anatomy and physiology interests me more whereas I don't like biochem that much. I felt proud too cuz didn't faint in the first dissection class. The smell is really terrible, but now i'm immuned to it already cuz almost every morning 8am to 10am I will be seeing my so called "friend" which his penis already gone. I wonder how he died also. During dissection class, I can feel hungry some more. Haha. My class is made up of 126 people. Out of this number only 43 people are self-sponsored. The rest are JPA and MARA students. So, there're damn a lot of malays in my class. The most boring thing is when attending any lectures or practical lab session, need to sit according to college roll number that means you're not able to sit with your friends. Haha. There's a genius malay boy in my class, he is JPA sponsored student, I named him as "problems boy" cuz every single lectures he sure has thousand of questions to ask. And the way he talks got a kind of slang which really make us giggling while he is asking the lecturers question.

My usual lecture classroom.

Dissection of pectoral region.

Dissection of axilla part. (armpit)

"auto" which is much more cheaper than taxi.

Maple Beach

Last sunday, I went to Maple beach which is nearby to Manipal. The journey took 30 minutes by "auto". Initially, a big group of classmates planned to go together but due to some reasons, at last only three of us determined to go, Joe, Amy and me. When we departed from campus, it was raining. Joe was keep convincing us that the beach there might not be raining as well. So we three idiots still very determined to visit the beach. By the time, we reached the beach, the rain stopped. There were a lot of people. And everyone is looking us as if we are aliens. Guess what are the most number of things or people at the beach? If your answer is Ice-cream stall, you're right. But there is another answer for this question, the answer is GAYS. Haha. Never expect this answer right? And quite a number of them requested to take photos with Joseph, in a minute, he became indians' hot stuff already whereas Amy and I had an idea of pimping him at the beach to get some pocket money. The sea in the evening is quite rough so we didn't get to play banana boat ride and bumpy boat ride. Only a normal boat ride was available, it costs us 50 rupees per person. The sea was s rough till the water splashed all the passengers on the boat especially those who were sitting in front. And me, totally get wet. We went for camel ride too. Joe went to swim in the sea, left me and amy waiting for him by the beach cuz both of us didn't bring any clothes along. When it started to rain again, we took auto back to campus. On the way back, the "auto" almost tumbled down. At last, the driver get some help from other "auto" drivers, so we had a safe ride back to campus. There's the only photo Joe taken with those "brotherhood" friends using his camera. Quite a number of them take their own handphones to take photo with Joe. Haha. Taken during boat ride.

Camel Ride. The camel that I rode is so tall.

Three silly idiots that insisted go to the beach when it's raining.

The sea is so rough in the evening.

Anyway, it's a good place to visit and relax when we really stressed up with those anatomical terms. We will be visiting the beach again in two or three weeks time.
